Who am I? What is this site trying to reveal to you? Will the contents help and assist you in your life efforts and endeavors?
For the first fifty years of my life, I endeavored to discover why the world and humans were as they were as both were a puzzle to me. I had difficulty fathoming either one, mostly because I could not fathom myself. In pursuit of the follies of youth, the phase that we all live through because our family and the world have made us up, I concluded that I was a radical. By radical, I mean in the sense that I had to go to the source of everything, think for myself, and come to my own conclusions, irrespective of what the world, country, society, laws, and prevailing temporary ideologies in the world. I wanted to identify the makeup of freedom and liberty and how power and tyranny thrived throughout of course of human history and among the American people and government.
Thus, I studied history in all of its varieties, pursuing a BA and MA in American History at the University of Pittsburgh and a PhD in American Foreign Policy and Social History at The Ohio State University, with my dissertation written on America’s “Culture of Liberty.” While working my way through the universities, I wrote three plays and numerous poems, all of which I destroyed.
Jobs with the United States Government and private industry followed school. Eventually, I ended up in the financial services industry with a Certified Financial Planner designation and an expertise as one of leading authorities of variable annuities in the country.
All of this time, I was still digging, trying to find answers or at least drill into what would be the right questions to ask of our human species that would illuminate its destructive path throughout its history. I investigated philosophy, psychology, religions, ancient cultures, poetry and poets, and spiritual paths, including Zen.
Finding no answers in knowledge, power, and politics on the sources of evil and human cruelty, I turned inward after fifty in pursuit of truth, psychological insights, and spiritual awareness to imagine, work, and create questions that would add to the alphabet of our common human journey.
The writings on this website are the result. The gifts of soul’s calling rose inch by inch from the profoundest depths of my being in works and songs that lived in the deep unnamed earth that soul called me to music out into the world. By doing so, I found the world that appears to us and that we appear to be in is as well the deepest world.
